Oscar-Winning Movie Director, Max Bennett

If you would've told 8 year old Max that he would be making his very first student film at the young age of 21, he would've thought that you were crazy. 8 year old Max was BARELY introduced to theater, but not because he wanted to, but because he was going through speech therapy and his mom made him socialize more. 8 year old Max couldn't even talk to his own sister, let alone talk to actors and crew people into giving the kind of performance and work he wanted, so no. Younger me would've said no if he actually talked.

Today, I found out that my written short film, "Acting Straight" got chosen to be made into a student film under the AUR Film Festival Club's guidance. To say that I'm excited and nervous doesn't put into words how I feel about this, but it's the closest that summarizes how I feel. I have the proper pitch meeting later tonight after my acting class and then on Thursday, the auditions comes. Am I nervous? Yeah because I don't know how to do casting, but I'm excited to see how it all turns out. Am I ready for this? Mentally, I'm convincing myself that I am, but we'll see how it goes. Through it all, as long as we all have a good time and the comedy is there, then I truly believe that it's going to work out in the end. Below's the pitch/blurb I have:

After Anna goes on a bad date with a... gay actor, she thinks that men are harder to date than women. Adam, the best friend, thinks that women are harder to date than men. Fueled by her frustration and his overconfidence, they make a bet:Adam will disguise himself as a woman and go on a date with a guy to prove that being with a woman is easier. Through a series of missteps and humor (hopefully), Acting Straight explores the awkwardness of dating and the complexity of figuring out what's next in life.
